Recalibrate Mode

The accuracy of your printer will drift over time due to wear and tear, changing environmental conditions, and many other factors. Recalibrate Mode allows you to recalibrate your system to ensure the most accurate and consistent color. You should recalibrate your mode at least every 2 weeks, every time you do maintenance or replace inks, or when you notice color drifts.

NOTE: Each time you recalibrate a mode the previous calibration data will be lost and replaced with the new data.

You can access Recalibrate Mode by clicking the "Recalibrate Mode" icon on the toolbar or by going to the Setup Menu and selecting [Recalibrate].

To recalibrate your Mode:

  1. Click the [Recalibrate Mode] icon on the toolbar. This opens the "Recalibrate Mode" dialog.
  2. Select the mode you want to recalibrate from the drop down menu.
  3. Print your Calibration Swatch by clicking the [Print] button.
  4. Once the swatch is printed and dried, Read the Calibration Swatch by placing the swatch in your reading device and clicking the [Read] button. You will need a reading device for this step.
  5. After the swatch is read, click the [Build LinearizationClosed] button. This opens the “Tweak Linearization" dialog. From here, you can view your current measurements and *modify your settings. When you are done, click the [Build] button
  6. Click [OK].

*Because modifying your color settings has wide-ranging effects on your output, it is strongly recommended that you not modify your settings manually. Clicking [Build] from the "Linearization" dialog will automatically set your color settings to the optimal range.
